Less than four months from excavation to opening
Town Market MobilWhat we did
Mequon, WI, regards the intersection of Mequon Road and Cedarburg Road as a important gateway to the city. So when the time came to update the old Mobile station on the corner, we faced a two-year approval process that held the project design to an extremely high standard.
We had been using that time for planning. Once we secured all the permits, we hit the ground running. We razed the old 2-bay service station and replaced it with a beautiful 3,200 square foot convenience store, deli, and gas island with six gas pumps and new canopy. The entire $1.9M dollar project took us less than four months to build — from the first excavation to opening including the demolition of the old building and petroleum equipment installation.
We designed and built:
- 3,200 sq ft convenience store
- Deli counter
- 6 fueling dispensers
- Canopy
How we did it
The city wanted the public driving by to see the building, not the gas island. We addressed this requirement by pulling the building to the front corner of the site, making the building the site’s prominent architectural feature.
The city wanted the building to be beautiful. We proposed and obtained approval for an all-brick design with natural Lannon stone wainscoting, and a steeply-roof topped with a cupola. We planned for extensive landscaping — a brick patio with a natural Lannon stone sitting wall and terrace walls, surrounded by mature trees and shrubs.
Construction Solutions Midwest, LLC developed the layout and design for the interior’s vaulted, exposed heavy timber truss system, creating a unique interior look and feel for the store. We designed and installed a full deli counter and food preparation area. Our experience in developing delis and fast food restaurants made it easy to source the right equipment for the store.
