Cenex
90 days to complete $1,850,000 Cenex Convenience store/Car Wash, Farmers Coop Oil - Olivia, MN
An aggressive 90 day schedule is all that it took to completely raze and rebuild the the existing out dated gas station/convenience store for “Farmers Coop Oil” project located in Olivia, MN.
Construction Solutions-Midwest, LLC worked with Farmers Coop Oil to design a project that “felt residential” in nature. As you can see the end design and selection of materials accomplished this goal very nicely. From the use of a pitched roof with Architectural Dimensional shingles to the hard board side and block wains cotting and earth tone color choices the whole project gives their customers a feeling of coming home.
The total scope of the project included the demolition of the existing outdated Convenience store which was originally an old service garage and two residential houses, al new 6 MPD gas island, revamped diesel island. The site was completely redesigned to include drive lane and stacking for a new 2 bay car wash, car vacuuming island, 6 MPD gas island and parking for semi truck/trailers on the site.
As with any project today lighting and security had to be considered in the design phase of the project. The cashiers had to be able to maintain a clear line of site to both the gas islands and the diesel island. The security system that was installed has cameras strategicly located to be able to see all of the pumps, the car wash traffic stacking area, both car wash bays and ingress and egress to & from the site. The site is extremely well lit at all locations to insure that Farmers Coop Oil’s customers feel safe at all times.
The interior of the store was professionally designed By C-Stores Systems in Madison, WI to provide maximum site lines from the cashier’s area. A large Coffee island with bakery case. Additionally a food court area was developed for Farmer’s Coop’s Grab-N-Go fast food program.
The walk-in cooler and freezer have triple pane glass doors with LED lighting instead of the traditional standard fluorescent lights.
The entire building was designed for maximum energy efficiency and site’s energy usage controlled with an “Energy Management system” manufactured by Emerson to minimize energy usage.
