Express Auto Spa

The Express Auto Spa is about the most dramatic total renovation that we have ever done!  This facility was an existing tunnel car wash that was far past its prime and needed major work to bring it back to a useful design and life as a car wash.

The site and building had been used as a car wash for over thirty years.  Demolition and reconstruction was not a viable option for the site since updated zoning ordinances and set back requirements in the City of  Waukesha would not have allowed the building to be built  as close to the street as the current building.  With a larger set back from the street the site would not work.

The demolition portion of the project included gutting out all of the existing interior to the walls including the existing concrete floor, old electrical, plumbing and old car wash equipment.

The exterior walls were stripped to the concrete block sub-strait, the roof was removed and replaced with a new Duro-last roof, and new windows were cut into the existing street side exterior wall.  Part of the east end of the building was removed and new space was created for a detailing area.

EFIS was used to resurface and update the exterior of the building plus decorative awnings were used for accent. A 3’ high cut stone wains cotting was used for additional accent design.

A new landscaping package was designed and installed to further enhance the curb appeal of the project.

A canopy was installed over the toll booth area to create protection from the weather while customers are making their car wash purchase option selections.
